Katherine Barlow

Katherine McCord Johnson-Barlow, 74, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016 at her home. She was a native of Miami, FL and a resident of Suffolk for 14 years. She was a member of Great Fork Baptist Church of Whaleyville.

Katherine was preceded in rest by her parents, Lawrence and Bebe McCord; brother, Bobby McCord; and daughter, Michele Johnson Smith. She is survived by her husband, Rick A. Barlow; sons, Rocky Johnson and wife Wendy, Gary Johnson and wife Donna, Charles Johnson and wife Kimberly, and Eric Barlow; daughters, Shannon Johnson O’Brien, Brandi Barlow, Sara Barlow, April McLeod, and Tammy Barlow; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister Peggy Marrero; and brother, Lawrence McCord.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Katherine’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 26, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens.
