Joyce was born on September 15, 1934 in the Bald Mountain Community, in Burnsville, North Carolina. She lived the majority of her life in Newport News, Virginia, before relocating to DeLand, Florida in 2002. In her younger years, Joyce enjoyed dancing, music, bowling, going to the beach, and piddling around in the yard. Above all, Joyce's greatest joy in life was spending quality time with her family and dear friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Ike and Lenny (McCurry) Wilson, eight siblings, daughter, Saundra S. Ramsey, and granddaughter, Meredith L. Winall. Joyce is survived by her loving husband and soul-mate, Bryan Ramsey; daughter, Karen Ramsey Winall; grandchildren, Leonard and Kathy Pope, Katrina and Ashlie McKeel, and Leslie Gustufson; great-grandchildren, Kain and Justin Pope, Brady Grooms, and Henry, Hannah, and Clara Gustufson.
Joyce was an outgoing and funny woman, with a generous, kind, and loving heart. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Joyce and husband, Bryan, built their life together, and their family on a strong foundation, with an everlasting bond. Our memories will keep her alive in our hearts forever.
A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 5, 2018 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home and Memorial Park with Pastor Marcel Berrios officiating. Entombment to follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
