Jennie Mae Harris, 98, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. She was born on January 7, 1917 to the late Oliver Reil and Mary LaRose Reil in Acton, Maine. She had been a resident of Norfolk since 1963 before moving to Hampton with her daughter in 2005.
Jennie was a member of the Southside Art Association and the Chesapeake Bay Art Association for many years.
She is preceded in death by her son, Sterling King and a daughter, Carol Hamilton. Survivors include her daughters, Thelma Cole of Hampton, Virginia, and Noreen Haranzy and her husband Mike of Connecticut; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with a celebration of her life to follow at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Parklawn Memorial Park.
