Janet Rae Belcher

She was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her husband of 50 years, Chuck, sons and daughter-in-laws Rusty and Suzanne of Hampton, VA, Patrick and Jessica of Reston, and Timothy and Catherine of Oakton; grandsons, Nathan, Justin, Tristan, Cartney and Dylan; brother, Dan Brewer of Bluefield, WV; along with several nieces and nephews.

Janet loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She served him in several Peninsula churches, most recently at Buckroe Baptist Church as Sonshine Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. She loved music and singing in the choirs at church. She was a member of the Gideons Auxiliary. Janet retired as a school bus driver for the City of Hampton.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 18, 2012 from 6-8 pm at Buckroe Baptist Church, 1819 North Mallory Street, Hampton. Funeral service will be at Buckroe Baptist Church on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 11:00 pm. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Buckroe Baptist Church, or The Gideons International.
