He was Born in Williamston, North Carolina to Grover Bryan Lilley Sr. and Ethel Holliday Lilley on January 2, 1943. He spent many years volunteering as Freckles the Clown, a talent of which he carried with him until the end. Always bringing joy through witty jokes, silly faces, and kind gestures, spreading love was his specialty. An esteemed veteran and Air Force musician, he played the trombone during his time serving the USAF. His passion for music continued as a member of the Hampton Baptist Church Choir where he also served as a deacon for many years.
Bryan lived a full life dedicated to honoring his wife, children, and grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Susan Lilley, Dawn Montgomery, and Rev. Ed Lilley. He is also survived by his six grandchildren (Christian[Rudy], Jessica, MJ[Katlyn], Kendrik, Elizabeth, and Chandler), four great-grandchildren (Kaelyn, Emberly, Hudson, and Elwyn), three sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many other loving family members.
