Frank W. Scott, 93, passed away on August 3, 2011 at his home in Yorktown. He was a graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA and received a Master's Degree in Hospital Administration from Columbia University in New York in the early 1950's.
Frank retired from the Medical College of VA Hospital in Richmond as an Administrator in June 1983. He was a member of Carver Presbyterian Church in Newport News. He is survived by his daughters, Karen L. Scott and Jacqueline B. Scott. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Frank served in the U.S. Army during World War II where he met his wife, Helen, at Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC. They had been married for 67 years. Frank was active in the community by serving as a volunteer in Gloucester, working at the Job Referral Services. He was also a member of The Moles organization and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Monday, August 8, 2011 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A Celebration of Frank's life will be held at 11:00 am at the funeral home following the visitation. Interment will follow at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton.
