Born to Catherine Puryear Conner and Ernest H. Conner in South Boston, Virginia on March 25, 1939, and was one of three children. Fannie Mae grew up surrounded by love and support from her family as well as her friends and peers. Fannie Mae showed that she was a woman on true faith as a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Yorktown, Virginia. She retired from the Department of the Army as a civil servant.
Fannie Mae is survived by her beloved daughters, Theresa Lynn Dixon and Kimberly Dixon Rose (Timothy); her brother Leroy Conner (Judy); her grandchildren, Avery Rose (formerly Kody), Jacob Rose (Victoria), and Tyler Rose.
Fannie Mae was preceded in death by beloved husband, John Wayne Dixon; her father Ernest H. Conner, her mother Catherine P. Conner; her brother David R Conner (Sandra); niece Sherry Conner and nephews Douglas and Michael Conner.
A funeral service for Fannie Mae will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. inside the main Chapel at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 North Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA 23666.
