Surrounded by his family, Edward R. Saxton, Jr., 79, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Ed will always be remembered for his love for family, unwavering faith and selfless spirit. Born in Middletown, New York, he was the son of Edward and Frances Saxton. He served in the U.S. Air Force during which time he attained a Masters of Science in Human Relations and retired as a MSGT in 1982. After the Air Force, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service and retired his second career after 20 years. He was an avid fan of westerns, coin and stamp collecting, crosswords and model cars. He was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Chun, of 56 years; daughter, Virginia Ann and her husband William Mark; daughter, Frances Mary; his son in law, Gregory Joseph; his three grandsons, Joshua, Alex and Matthew; his three granddaughters, Rachel, Taelor and Sara; his son, Edward James; and his sister, Pauline Dougherty.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, October 4, 2018. A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, October 5, 2018 at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home.
