Doris Renn Harris

She was married for over 60 years to the love of her life Peter W. Harris Sr. Along with raising her three children, Doris had a very impressive career. She received her nursing diploma in 1959 from North Carolina Baptist Hospital before going on to achieve her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1976. She later went on to get her Masters of science in Community Health Nursing. Throughout her career she served in various roles as a nurse, including team leader, public health nurse and adjunct faculty.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Peter W. Harris Sr, and her siblings Betty Torgeson, J.B. Renn, and Emily Bush.

Doris is survived by her children June O’ Neal (Frank), Peter W. Harris Jr., Michele Delk (Ronald). She is also survived by five wonderful grandchildren Hannah, Rachel, Elizabeth, Leia and Brandon; seven adorable great-grandchildren who fondly referred to her as “GG”, Averie, Liam, Riley, Caleb, Micah, Noelle, and Aurora.

A visitation will be held on April 13, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM. The burial will take place at 3:00 PM at Parklawn Wood Memorial Park.
