Dean Howard Hanson passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019 at the age of 76 years in his home in Hampton Virginia surrounded by his loved ones. Dean was born in the small town of Knoxville Illinois but spent most of his life living in Brooklyn New York where he met his wife of 48 years. Together they raised their son before retiring to Virginia in 2015. Dean earned the respect of many with his intelligence, work ethic and construction knowledge; however, he gained the love of many with his self-sacrificing spirit, generosity and empathy. All who knew him comment about his heartfelt friendly demeanor.
Proceeded in death by parents, George and Lorraine; sister, Barbara Dorward. Survived by his wife, Silvana; son, David and wife Celia; two brothers, Ron Hanson and wife Dianne, Ken Hanson and wife Nancy; sister, Shirley Guiter and husband David; three grandchildren, Jacob, Emily and Ethan; brothers-in-law, Theodore Dorward and Charlie Dimino; sister-in-law, Anne Marie Juul; one niece and five nephews.
Memorial service will be at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on 717 E. Little Back River Road, Hampton, Virginia at 2:00 PM.
