Dawson Dixon Sr.

Dawson Dixon, 82, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014. He was born February 24, 1932 in Letcher, Kentucky to the late Rich and Mary Dixon. Dawson was a resident of Hampton for 30 years and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a military veteran who loved his family and country.

Dawson was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty and two sons. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sarah; four sons, David Dixon, Terry Dixon and wife Kathy, Ricky Dixon and wife Sandy, and Vince Grella and wife Kathleen; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother, R. B. Dixon; and companions, Becky and Poncho.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Dawson’s life will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, November 6, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
