Former Syracuse resident, David Lawrence Beil, age 73, of Poquoson, Virginia passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. David was born November 9, 1948.
He was the son of Lawrence and Dorothy Beil. David graduated from East Syracuse Minoa High School and Northern Michigan University. After 21 years in the Air Force, he retired as a Major. He lived in Korea after retirement and managed the VFW for 10 years. David had a lust for life and a passion for golf. He was also an avid fan of S.U. Sports.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Ok Cha Beil, who loved and cared for him with deep devotion. He is also survived by his step daughter, Sulki Ko (Leo); his sons, Trever of Tennessee, and Brenton of Syracuse; two sisters, Kristin Kaufman (Roger), and Karen Borchik (Dan); and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Any contributions may be made to The Cancer Institute for research.
