Darlene Fay Rice

Darlene Fay Rice, 62, peacefully passed away at her Hampton, VA home on September 23, 2024. Darlene was born October 5, 1961, at Ft. Monroe, VA. She was a Kecoughtan High graduate and spent some of her adult life in Ohio before returning to Virginia. Darlene was a hard worker, strong-willed, and a caregiver to her mother for many years. She was a Dallas Cowboys fan and loved her children, grandchildren, and all animals.

Darlene is preceded in death by her father, James C. Rice. Survivors include her children, Christopher (Christina) Howder, Brandon Harbert; Casey (Chase) Gillespie; mother, Nancy Rice; siblings, Barbara Shackelford, James R. (Amber) Rice; and close niece, Holly (Jeremy) Collins. Darlene is further survived by twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Darlene’s family and friends will miss her dearly but know she is resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior. James 1:12, “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”
