CHARMAINE WAS A BEAUTIFUL SOUL THIS, IN BRIEF, IS HER STORY CHARMAINE A’LA RICH, THE ELDEST CHILD OF THE LATE CHARLES A. PLEASANTS III AND MILDRED O. PLEASANTS, WAS BORN ON JUNE 29, 1952 IN NEW YORK, NY. SHE ENTERED INTO ETERNAL REST ON MARCH 4, 2021. CHARMAINE MADE LIFELONG FRIENDS WHILE GROWING UP IN NEW YORK. SHE ATTENDED ANDREW JACKSON HIGH SCHOOL AND WAS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE MINISINK DRUM AND BUGLE CORP AS A TEENAGER. HER LOVE FOR DESIGNING AND MAKING CLOTHING LED HER TO ATTEND THE FASHION INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY. SHE LATER ATTENDED AVERETT UNIVERSITY AND GRADUATED WITH A BACHELOR’S DEGREE. CHARMAINE WORKED THE ARMY AIRFORCE EXCHANGE SERVICES (AAFES) FROM 1989 UNTIL SHE RETIRED IN 2013. DURING HER EMPLOYMENT AT AAFES, SHE ACCOMPLISHED MANY PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL GOALS INCLUDING PROMOTIONS, CERTIFICATES AND AWARDS OF ACHIEVEMENT. CHARMAINE HAD A VIBRANT PERSONALITY AND WAS LOVED BY SO MANY. SHE WILL BE REMEMBERED AS CARING, GIVING, AND SOMEONE WHO HAD SO MUCH LOVE FOR HER FRIENDS AND FAMILY. SHE WAS EXTREMELY PROUD OF HER CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN. SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER FATHER, CHARLES A PLEASANTS III AND MOTHER MILDRED O. PLEASANTS. SHE LEAVES TO CHERISH HER DAUGHTER, CHARDON L RICH, SON LOUIS D. RICH JR.; BROTHER CHARLES A PLEASANTS IV (FERN); TWO GRANDCHILDREN, JORDON JUDGE AND MARLEE SCOTT. NIECE CHEKERA PLEASANTS, NEPHEWS CHARLES A. PLEASANTS V AND JARIUF PLEASANTS; GREAT NEPHEW CAMERON COOR AND GREAT NIECE JORDAN PLEASANTS AND HER SPECIAL FRIEND RONALD ANDERSON. ALONG WITH MANY LOVING FRIENDS AND EXTENDED FAMILY MEMBERS. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS FROM 6:00 P.M. TO 8:00 P.M. AT PARKLAWN-WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 2551 N. ARMISTEAD AVE., HAMPTON, VA 23666. DUE TO COVID 19, SERVICES WILL BE PRIVATE BUT WILL BE ABLE TO BE VIEWED VIA FACEBOOK LIVE ON PARKLAWN-WOOD'S FACEBOOK PAGE. FRIENDS ARE ENCOURAGED TO SHARE MEMORIES AND OFFER WORDS OF CONDOLENCE WITH THE FAMILY.
