Cathy was a friend of mine at Curves Grafton-Yorktown. She was an encourager! I won't forget her. She'll be missed. I'm truly sorry for your loss.

to Patrick, Thomas, and Adria:  We met when you were involved in Troop 368 and were very much a part of our lives. We always saw your mom as a determined woman with high expectations of herself and her children.  She certainly raised you well even in the face of adversities.  A truly resilient woman, your mom has left a mark on this world. She will be remembered.

To Patrick and family Ricky and I are the richer of having to know such an awesome woman.Your mom will always have a place in our hearts, the very first time I saw here she welcomed me with open arms and always with a smile. Cathy and I worked side by side to educate the minds of tomorrow.  She was a dedicated,caring educator.  She also shared spiritual moments with me that I will never forget.  I thank Cathy for her prayers and strength.  Her strength now shines out for people to see.  I know that Cathy is with the Lord with a smiling face.  We will miss you.

I was always impressed how Ms. Thornton motivated her kindergarten and first grade classes to excel.  She had her first graders writing stories years before it became a requirement.

I knew Cathy as a dedicated member of Grafton Curves.  She was very proud of her accomplishments and watching her workout numbers rise.  My sympathy goes to her family,of which she was very proud

I met Cathy several years ago when she joined the Peninsula Italian American Lodge.  Although we did not see her very much she still wanted to be a member. Adria was the only child I knew and I can only imagine the pain she and her family are experiencing.  Take comfort in the joy you brought to her life and how much she loved you.

I got to know Cathy through Chestnut United Methodist Church about 2 years ago.  I always cherished her kind and giving spirit.  As teachers, we shared our classroom experiences.  She dealt with some very difficult children and to me, she was a pillar of strength as she never gave up on any child.  That same pillar of strength was seen when she talked about the tremendous pride that she had for her own children.  The committment abd cinstant devotion that she showed as a single parent was truly amazing.
Her smile, laugh, and hugs will never be forgotten.  I will miss her greatly.
My deepest sympathy and prayers for strength go out to her Mom, children, and granddaughter during the days, weeks, and months ahead.  May God bless each one of you.

I only met Cathy a few times when she was visiting Adria at Virginia Tech, where we were both students.  She treated me like her son every time I saw her.  
She will be greatly missed.  I wish my love to the family here on Earth.  We can all look forward to the day when we pass through the veil to greet our family on the other side!  What a great reunion that day will be!

Cathy will be missed. She was a wonderful hard working teacher.

I cannot explain how much Cathy impacted my life.  She had an awesome amount of faith.  Her faith blessed and encouraged me and made my faith in God stronger.  I am truly going to miss my beautiful friend. I will never forget her and she will always hold a special place in my heart!

Cathy will be truly missed, her warm smile and inviting hello's will forever ring.  Other than the love for her children and the Lord Jesus she was especially excited about her the coming of her new granddaughter.  The best neighbor anyone could ever have.  Our deepest sympathy to the family.

Cathy was an amazing person with an infectious laugh. I remember her always having a bright smile on her face. She was a wonderful mother and did a tremendous job with her three children. She will be missed. :(
