Bruce worked for the Department of Public Works with the city of Newport News as an Operations Superintendent. He retired in 2008 after 32 years of dedicated service. He was a member of APWA and the American Motorcycle Association.
Bruce had a large personality that never knew a stranger. He loved life and enjoyed fishing, traveling in his motorhome, and spending time with his family.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Margueritte and James Ball. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda Ford Ball; four daughters, Sherri Shufflebarger (Jack), Samantha Hanks (Rodney), Wendy Crow (Brian), and Donna Lawter (Allen); nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Michael Ball (Julie); and furry companions, Jake and Shadoe.
A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at 5 pm, Tuesday, October 28 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home.
