Bob was born in Silver City, New Mexico but grew up in El Paso Texas, with great Texas pride. He attended the University of Texas, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Pre-Law. Bob served his country in Vietnam; receiving with honor a National Defense Service Medal; Sharpshooter (Rifle M-16). He carried that honor and commitment into his civilian life. Bob worked with Papco/World Fuels for over 33 years. He was awarded safety driver of the year nearly every year of his career and was the rock everyone knew they could count on. Bob was the epitome of unconditional love, especially towards his beloved wife Paula. They were truly soulmates. They met in Nashville, Tennessee, and made a home there with their 3 girls, after some years they moved to Hampton VA to be closer to family. That unconditional love spilled over not only to his children, but to extended family and friends. He took care of all those around him, with a quiet humility. A great example of what service is to others.
Bob had a huge love for horses and cars, especially his Corvettes. He could work on almost anything. In his spare time, you would often find him with a wrench in his hand. An awesome mechanic, he had a keen sense of preparedness for just about anything. In every sense of the word, Bob was a true cowboy with a great love for the rodeo. He was also an avid collector of many things, from model cars to coins and various sentiments. Bob was larger than life.
