Barbara G. Owens, beloved wife and mother, known by a select few as Bobbie Gail, peacefully passed away on January 21, 2024 at the age of 81. She was born on November 28, 1942, in Dillon, South Carolina, to the late Ofair and Isabelle David. Barbara was a kind-hearted woman who would help you any way she could. She will be remembered for her selflessness and her unwavering love for her family and friends. Barbara graduated from L.P. Jackson High in Dendron, VA. and pursued her passion for healthcare at the Allen School for Physicians' Aides. Before retiring she dedicated 35 years of her life as an Electrocardiogram Technician and a Sterilization Technician at Kings County Hospital.
Barbara is survived by her loving children, Gregory Owens, Adriane Owens, Kareem Owens, Rasheeta Owens, Teneka Owens, Kevin Owens, Mija Owens, Brittany Owens, and her cherished grandchildren, Tatanisha David, Kaila Owens, Keyona Owens, Xavier Cooper, Zymire Owens, Amaya Cooper, Cy'Aire Cooper, Kristian Owens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen W. Owens, her brother Lee Cee David, sons, Joel David and Terrell Owens, and her partner, Ray Cole.
In her free time, Barbara enjoyed listening to music, crocheting, cooking, traveling, and shopping. She found solace and community in her faith and grew up as a member of a Baptist Church.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at the Parklawn Funeral Home in Hampton, Virginia, where a memorial service will be held to honor Barbara's life and legacy. The details of the service will be provided by the funeral home.
Barbara Owens will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, generosity, and love will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
