Anna Marie Critzer

Anna Marie Honaker Critzer, 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2023 and has gone to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Anna was born to Arthur L. Honaker and Iva Lockhart Honaker on November 5, 1927, in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her loving husband of 72 years, Frank Edward Critzer Sr.; their angel baby “Sue Ann” who was taken to heaven prematurely; her brothers: Eugene Honaker, Richard Honaker, Jesse Honaker; her sisters: Mary Dahmer, Betty Belcher, Anita Sturh and Marguerite Ford.
Anna graduated from White Sulfur Springs High School in West Virginia, where she also played in the school band. Anna married her beloved husband, Frank E. Critzer, in 1947. Anna supported Frank’s Navy career which relocated them to Norfolk, Virginia. They later moved to Hampton, Virginia where she was a resident for 65 years. Anna was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church. She sang in the choir and was a children’s Sunday School teacher for many years. Anna had also sang with the Virginia Choral Society and the Songbirds. She was a hard worker and had owned a business which supported the local seafood industry.
She is survived by her brother, Arthur J. Honaker (Sue) of Caldwell, WV; three children, son Frank E. Critzer Jr. (Julieta) of Gloucester, Virginia; Daughters Betty “Dianne” Rohrbaugh (Richard) and Mary "Tina" Chrismon (George), both of Hampton Virginia; three grandchildren: Steven Critzer (Debbie), Brian Chrismon, Waylon "Mackie" Chrismon; one great-grandchild: Bret Critzer (Tamara); two great-great-grandchildren: Alice and Cade Critzer; three step-grandchildren, Alonso Mena, Darlene Niehaus, Lorene Robrbraugh, and also many nieces and nephews. Anna was so very kind and compassionate and always put others first. Anna will be greatly missed by family and friends, who are left to cherish her memory.
The family will receive friends 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, May 1, 2023 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at First Calvary Baptist Church, 162 Alleghany Rd., Hampton, VA, 23661. Interment to follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton, VA.
