Ann Therese Creech

Ann Therese (Wilcox) Creech, 65 of Apex, NC, passed away suddenly on May 8, 2023. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Newport News, VA. Burial will immediately follow at Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News. Ann was born in Portsmouth, VA to James and Helen Wilcox on November 17, 1957. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA. Ann dedicated herself as an elementary school teacher for her entire professional career. She lovingly raised her son, Patrick (33) and was a loving wife to Tony. As the oldest daughter in a family of 12 children, Ann passionately served others and was always willing to lend a helping hand. This was especially apparent while she was an active parishioner at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in York County and served on many committees there. Ann loved the beach, her dogs, cooking, and crafting – especially making beaded jewelry. Ann is preceded in death by her brother James A. Wilcox and her parents, Helen T. Wilcox and James G. Wilcox. Ann is survived by her husband Tony Creech and her son Patrick Rigo, siblings (spouses) - Marie (David) Welsch, John Wilcox, Catherine Wilcox, Peter (Robin) Wilcox, Paul (Mary) Wilcox, Helen (James) Gabriele, Terese (Tom) Sides, Mark (Betsy) Wilcox, Matthew (Kimberley) Wilcox, Luke (Stacy) Wilcox and 5 nieces and 13 nephews. In celebration of Ann’s giving spirit and generous heart, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to the charity of their choice.
