Alma C. Goss

Alma C. Goss, 91, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013. She was born in Archers Lodge, NC and was a resident of Hampton for 72 years. Alma worked in retail sales with Sears and Woolworth. She left retail sales to work at Newport News Shipbuilding where she retired after 26 years of service. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was dedicated with unconditional love to God and her family. Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Theria Roland Goss; brothers, O.C. and Marvin Crabtree; and her parents, Oscar and Cora Crabtree. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Dean Staton; son, Theria Roland Goss, Jr. (Carolyn); grandchildren, Mike Staton (Penny), Debi Liberty, Dr. David Goss (Deniz), and Donna Balgavy (Paul); great-grandchildren, George, Jr. and Lyndsey Liberty, Michael Staton, Gavin and Rylan Goss, Noah and Adam Balgavy; nephews, Phil and Mark Crabtree; nieces, Beverly Gupton and June Chilcoat; and several other family members. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00pm on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with a celebration of her life to begin at 2:00pm.
