Pop was a native of Hampton Virginia. He served in the Army as a mechanic and was a Vietnam Veteran and was awarded a gold star. Once out of the army he started an upholstery business and a flooring business. He enjoyed making peoples homes beautiful with his top quality flooring work for 35 plus years. He was a hard working family man who did everything he could to provide the best life possible for all of his family. He would always go out of his way to help others rather friend, foe, or strangers even if it meant that he himself would go without what he needed and wanted. He never failed at putting his family and others before himself.
Pop enjoyed spending his free time, which wasn’t much since he always worked, with his family. He enjoyed going fishing, playing pool, and going to the movies with his grandchildren. Later in life after he retired he enjoyed traveling, going to flea markets and going out to dinner, and staying home and watching Star Trek and any movies or documentaries about aliens and listening to Celiene Dion, which he would do day and night especially after his beautiful wife Joyce passed away. He also got into watching wrestling with his son in law Eddie over the past year. Pop was the most wonderful man that anyone could possibly imagine. Everyone who knew Pop was truly blessed to be a part of his life.
Family and Friends will gather together for a memorial service to celebrate the life of Pop at 6:00 pm on Sat. Dec.18th at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home located at 2551 North Armstead Ave Hampton Va, 23666.
