Wanda Nell (Eary) Brown was called to her heavenly home Friday December 7, 2012,
Funeral Services were held Sunday December 9, 2012 at Riley Funeral Home in Hamilton, Texas. Burial was held in Jonesboro, Texas.
She was born August 20, 1937 to Marvin Gaither and Meta Martha (Fulton) Eary she was baptized October 24, 1937 and confirmed February 27, 1951 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Aleman, Texas. She was raised with the hard working ethic of farmers and grew up pulling cotton and raising animals for their family. She attended Aleman school where she played basketball and graduated in May 1955. Upon graduating she went to work for Telephone Company as an Operator in her words “In the number please days” shortly thereafter she met and fell in love with her best friend and soul mate Bobby Lee Brown, they were married October 26, 1957 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Aleman. They moved to Robinson, Texas and in October 1958 they were blessed with their son and only child Ricky Lee. In 1972 they moved to Jonesboro, Texas and in 1974 they purchased their dream place “On the Mountain” where Wanda loved and raised her Brahma Cattle and Angora Goats all of which she named. She enjoyed farming and gardening and fishing. She was an excellent cook remembered fondly for several special dishes Sweet German Rice, Chicken and Dumplings, Coconut Cream Pie just to name a few! Another great love was deer hunting she along with Bob and Ricky shared the joy of getting “The Big Buck” and she was very competitive! She had been known to sit in a stand or her beloved truck “Ole Whitey” all day in the freezing cold if she had spotted “A Big UN “ determined to get it!
Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bob, both her parents a Brother Ronnie Lee Eary and nephew Jason Lee Eary
She is surived by her son Ricky Lee and wife Laverne of Hamilton, three grandkids Brien Brown of Austin Kimberly and husband Blake Maddox of Malone, Texas and Brody Brown of Hamilton and 5 Great Grandkids. Brothers: Delton Eary and wife Cheryl of Gatesville and Donnie Eary and wife Cadda of Aleman. Sister-in-Law Annette Eary of Gatesville along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was Loved by Many and will be greatly missed!
