Keith was a 1980 graduate of Hamilton High School. He also graduated from Tarleton State University with an accounting degree and late returned for a degree in Education. He began his career with Hico ISD in 1996 as a math teacher until 2004, when he became the Business Manager. Keith was the business Manager until his retirement in 2022. A twenty-six- year career with Hico ISD allowed Keith to make many friends that quickly became his second family. Keith loved the Hico community and was quick to lend a helping hand in any capacity when needed. He was a math tutor and a mentor to numerous students and staff throughout his career.
Preceding his death are his parents James Royce Elrod and Merle Dene Mims Elrod and one brother James Kevin (Jim) Elrod.
Keith is survived by one sister Beverly Gilstrap of Hamilton, brothers Ronny Eddleman of Kingman, AZ and Ken Eddleman of Tontitown, AZ; Nieces and nephews, Brian Gilstrap, Kristin Gilstrap, Kevin Elrod, sybil Phillips, Rance Eddleman, Zach Eddleman, Josh Eddleman, and Taylor Sciulli, along with several great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held April 26, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Hico Secondary School
