Funeral Services will be at 10:00am Monday 28, 2011 at

Riley Funeral Chapel.

Burial will be in Gentry's Mill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gentry's Mill

Cemetery or South Texas Children Home or your favorite charity in her memory.

Jewell was born August 26, 1919 to Frankie Douglas Owen and David Martin Elam.

Jewell married Wylie Edward Bennett on March 29 1936 in Hamilton, Texas. He

preceded her in death on October 29, 1982 in Hamilton, Texas. Also preceding her

in death were her parents, her son, Henry Bennett, a grandson Robert E. Bennett,

and a daughter-in-law, Mary Sue Bennett . She was preceded in death by her

sisters, Katie, Essie, Edna and Betty and her brothers George, Carl, Arthur, Leonard and David.

Survivors are her daughter, Frankye (John) Emch and sons Carl (Kenna Gene) Bennett, Robert (Judy) Bennett and

Michael (Karen) Bennett. Her grandchildren, Brian Emch, Sandra (Gabriel) Knoy,

Carla (Russell) Almon, Teresa (Gregory) Cowan, Michael J. Bennett, Melissa (Matt) Preston,

Matthew Bennett, Zachary Bennett; step grandchildren, Sonya Turner, Jason (Renee) Simmons,

Lonnie (Erika) Simmons, Sr.; great grandchildren, Nathaniel Knoy, Jared and Sharon

Almon, Garrison Cowen and two expected great grandchildren. Step great

grandchildren, Wyatt and Cullen Earp, Morgan Turner, Trinity and Jayden Simmons,

Alexis and Lonnie Simmons, Jr. also her sister, Lucille Holley and brothers,

Larry and Richard Elam and brother-in-law, Alvin King.

Jewell was a long time member of the Littleville Baptist Church where she taught

Sunday School, visited homebound members and supported all the church's

activities. Jewell worked many different jobs including helping Edward operate

a service station, grocery store and laundry. She worked at Patty's of Texas

for a number of years; as a cook and dietitian at Hamilton Hospital for many years;

she worked at the South Texas Children's Home as a substitute house mother

and worked for Mr. and Mrs. P.T. Lemmons as a caregiver.

Pallbearers are Brian Emch, Matthew Bennett, Zachary Bennett, Russell Almon,

Matt Preston, Dagan Siepert and David Siepert.
