With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of, Harold McClain, who passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born on October 19, 1947, in Pasadena, California to the proud parents of Lewis and Olga McClain. He was a loving husband to Janet McClain and proud father of three beautiful children: daughters, Dawn Hitt and Krystal Benedict and a son, Josh McClain.
Harold moved to Texas with his family at the age of two, where he graduated from Copperas Cove High School, and Tarleton State University, with a degree in teaching. He was a dedicated High School teacher with Copperas Cove for 33 years. After his retirement he was a substitute teacher in Evant and Hamilton School districts. Outside of teaching he loved riding horses and spending time with family.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents, and son, Josh. He is survived by his wife, Janet, both daughters, Dawn and Krystal and son-in-law Shawn Benedict. He also leaves behind a sister, Sheila Sellers and three grandchildren, Zachary Crain, Wyatt Hitt, and Kaylee Benedict. He will be missed by many friends as well.
There will be a memorial service held at Copperas Cove Cemetery on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 9:00 A.M., to honor and remember the life of Harold McClain.
