Floyd Lee Miller, 91 went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday August 19th 2019. The funeral will be held Friday August 23rd at 10:00 am at the First United Methodist Church in Evant, followed by a military burial at Murphree Cemetery. Floyd was born September 18th 1927 in Celina, TX to John Henry Miller and Wilma Marie Simpson Miller. He proudly served our country in the Navy from 1945 to 1948. He retired as an operations supervisor from Northlake Power plant/ Texas Power and Light. After the death of his first wife Helen Notson Miller in 1982, he met Helen Ann Lutwitzi Taylor Miller in 1987 and after a short courtship they married in 1988. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors; hunting, fishing, playing golf, and creating beautiful pieces of woodwork. He served in several capacities at First Presbyterian Church in Grand Prairie and First United Methodist Church; as an elder, handyman, and whatever else was requested of him. He and Helen moved to Evant and started a hobby farm, enjoying working cattle, feeding other wildlife, gardening, and enjoying the slower pace of life.
He had three children, Deborah, Carol and Mike from his first marriage. After his kids were grown, he married Helen he became “Dad” to Patty, Peggy and Timothy and was loved and known as grandpa to numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen, sister Mozel, brother Edwin, grandsons John Robison and Nick Picard. He is survived by sister Velma Bea, all children and numerous grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
