Eva Nell Watson Howell passed peacefully away on July 19, 2022 at her Residence. Memorial services will be announced at a later date as per the family.
Eva was born on January 16, 1935 in Fairy, Texas in the home of her grandparents, J.B. (Ben) and Laura Belle Cunningham. She was the only child born to her parents, Wilford Tommie and Fleeta Cunningham Pitts. She attended school in Hamilton and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1953. On October 10, 1953, she married Clyde Willis Watson and they were blessed with four wonderful children: Cathy, Tommy, Mike and Bill. Eva was a Christian and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Her love for God and family were very important to her. She was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She cherished the time she spent with her family.
Eva was the Branch Manager of the former Gatesville Savings and Loan, which later became Western Savings and Loan and later Bank of America. She worked there from October 1972 until March 1993. Prior to that she worked for Williams Abstract & Title Company and worked in the Hamilton County Courthouse in the Tax Assessor’s Office and the County Clerk’s Office.
She was preceded in death by her parents and Husband, Clyde Willis Watson on May 4, 1990. On December 7, 1995, she married Charles Turner (Red) Howell and he also preceded her in death on January 31, 2001. Michael Dwayne Watson preceded her in death on February 24, 2009 and her daughter Cathy Lynn Watson Sellers on September 9, 2017 and 2 grandchildren Laura Leigh and Francis Tommy Sellers and a great granddaughter, Katelynn Suzanne Gail Watson. She was also preceded in death by her companion of 10-1/2 years David W. Cogswell on October 14, 2013.
Eva is survived by her son, tom Watson and wife Judy of Sand Springs, Oklahoma and her son Bill Watson and wife, Texanne of Hamilton also a son in law, Ted Sellers of Hamilton.
Grand children are Elisa and Joe Lester, Christi and Michael Chabarria, Josh and Pam Watson, Chandra and Brian Ingram, John Michael and Sheri Watson, and Danny Watson and wife, Emily of Hamilton, Albert White of Evant, Billy White of Evant and Renee Brumbalow of Hamilton.
She was also blessed with several great grandchildren.
