Ella Mae Taylor, 91, of Hamilton, passed away Friday, December 5 at a local nursing home. Funeral services have been set for 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 8 at the First Baptist Church in Hamilton. Visitation will be Sunday, December 7 from 5 – 7 P.M. at Riley Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Toliver Cemetery.
Ella Mae Brittain was born January 4, 1923 to William Alexander & Sarah Elizabeth Brittain in Burnet County, Texas. She grew up in a little town of Oakalla, Texas. They had one daughter Ella Faye They lived on the Leon River their entire life on the Taylor home place. She graduated from Briggs High School. She Married Lynn Wilson Taylor in Hamilton County on October 28, 1946.
She was a member of the Littleville Baptist Church where she ministered to nursing homes & shut in church members. She also taught Sunday school. She was a board member for United Care for 10 years. She loved gardening and being outdoors, fishing, hiking & cooking.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lynn W. Taylor. siblings; CB Brittain, Clarence Brittain, Buck Brittain, Esta Lee Warren, Bonnie Lee & Mamie Bouchelle, also by two grandchildren, Johnny Lynn Stephens, Shannon Chad Stephens and son in law, Gayland Stephens.
