Ginger was born August 28, 1961 in Hamilton Texas to Douglas Calhoun and Jeane Lane Calhoun. Ginger’s family moved to Granbury for several years before returning to the Hamilton area by her sixth grade and graduated Hamilton High School in 1979. She married her high school sweet heart Herman Lanmon Jr. on January 3, 1980. They started their life together in Temple TX for college before moving back to Hamilton in the fall of 1981.
They had four children; Bradley, Chelsea, Corbin and Lauren. Ginger remained at home and raised each one because her belief was “it’s the most important thing a mom can do”. She loved being a mom and later “Gram”.
Ginger entered the work place when Lauren went into Kindergarten. She worked briefly for Quality Auto Care, Sugarbakers and Crouch and White before having the opportunity to work for the Hamilton Herald. She found what she really liked to do and spent 16 years there and enjoyed the interaction with the community. She then worked for Edward Jones, Texas Dept of Corrections as an Administrative Assistant II and had just finished her first year as Office Administrator for TxDot Hamilton.
Ginger was known as “Gram” to the ones most important; her wonderful grandchildren Ryker, Ellisyn and Meryn West as well as Otis Lanmon.
