Ingle (Gate) was born on Friday, October 9, 1936 in Crowell, Texas to his parents Larless and Beulah Gatewood. He began his lifelong career in the printing industry working at the Muleshoe Journal at the age of 13. After graduating from Muleshoe High School, he served a brief enlistment in the United States Navy.
After returning for the Navy, he married the love of his life Nelda Otte on February 28, 1958 in Muleshoe.
Gate continued his career in the printing business by working for the Muleshoe Journal, The Abilene Reporter News, The Temple Daily Telegram, and The Belton Journal, eventually leading to the opening of Hamilton Printing that he and his son co-owned for several years. After working in the printing field that he enjoyed for over 70 years, Gate finally retired in 2023.
Anyone who knew Gate knew that he was the most loving spouse, father, grandfather and great-grandfather that a family could ask for. He was determined, and very successful in providing for his family and gave them the life he felt they deserved. He made sure his family knew they meant more to him than anything else in the world.
Gate is survived by his daughter Jerri Tyler and husband Eddie of Belton, son Mark Gatewood of Salado and son Keith Gatewood and wife Adriana of Hamilton. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Lindsey Tyler-Zernial, Amy Jo Boring, Kyle Gatewood, Allen Gatewood and Allison Skinner: six great grandchildren Kensington, Bennett, Shepherd, Ruth, Madeline and Lawrence.
