Bonnie was born on November 18, 1942 in Houston, Texas to Bonnie and Bessie Philips. On October 21, 1974, she married Bert Allen Walton, Sr, with whom she built an amazing life and family.
A longtime resident of Hamilton, Bonnie was a familiar and friendly face to her community. She was a trusted and loved employee of ExtraCo Bank, where she built a reputation of going the extra mile and telling it like it is.
Bonnie enjoyed cooking, reading, and watching Young and the Restless. But, above all else, she treasured time with her family. Well-known for her intellect and wit, Bonnie thoroughly enjoyed defeating her children in Scrabble, Double Solitaire, Phase10 and any other game she played. One of her favorite past times was sitting around the table, laughing and playing games with her family, a love that she has passed down to all of her children.
Bonnie is survived by her sister, Frances Ann Cassidy, and husband Frank of Deer Park, TX; daughter Angela Collins and husband Keith of North Richland Hills, TX; son Gregory Walton and wife Lana of Humble, Texas; daughter Kelli Nolen and husband Mark of Hamilton, TX; son Bert “Thumper” Walton Jr. and wife Ramona of Hamilton, TX; daughter Bonnie Snipes and husband David of Harlem, GA; daughter Vicky Walton and wife Susan of Salt Lake City, UT; son Ricky Walton and wife Sherry of Liberty, TX; daughter Carla Walton of Liberty, TX; daughter-in-law Donna Walton of Stephenville, TX; 25 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bert Allen Walton, Sr; her parents, Bonnie and Bessie Philips; her son, Steven Walton, and grandson, Gunnar Snipes.
Bonnie’s sons: Greg, Bert, Mark, Keith, David, and grandsons: Payden, Weston, Braxton, Cooper and Jakob will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons; Nikolas and Fischer. Her final resting place will be the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, Texas, next to her dear husband, Bert.
