Gone from us on April 21, 2017. Zofia was born in Bryn, Poland in 1923. In Germany after WWII, she met her husband Edward (2011) of 66 years. In 1949 Zofia, with their son, joined Edward’s flight to Canada. Together they embarked on a journey of work. After leaving the mining town of Red Lake, Ontario, they raised their family in the industrial City of Hamilton. Zofia was a loving Mother to Henry, Maria and Helena. A loved Grandmother to Geoffrey (Carla) and Christopher (Amanda). Pleased to be a Great Grandmother to Quinn, Emery, Liam, Ava and Sophia. Zofia leaves behind her loved sister Olga Sajdak of Stuttgart, Germany. Her last few years were lived out in Longterm Care at the Village of Wentworth Heights. Zofia’s gentleness, kindness, love for animals and nature will always be missed. “Our rose has passed beyond to the other side.” Visitation at the TRUSCOTT, BROWN & DWYER FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1309 King Street East (across from Gage Park) on Thursday, April 27 from 2-4 pm and 5-7 pm followed immediately by prayers at 7 pm.
