It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother on March 25, 2017 at the age of 89. She was surrounded by her loving family and was reunited with her beloved husband and dear sonBrian who passed before her. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Sandy Bacolini (Tom), Wendy and sons Alan and Gary (Christine) as well as her siblings, many nieces and nephews and close friends. She was a wonderful and caring Nana to 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Verna was born and raised in New Brunswick where she met and married Arnold, the love of her life. They settled in Hamilton where they raised their children and enjoyed 62 years of marriage. Not only did she care for her family, she also cared for others in her 35 year nursing career. She will fondly be remembered for her famous baked beans, buttermilk pancakes and her love of “I Love Lucy” reruns. A huge thank you to all of the staff at the Juravinski Hospital who treated our mom with such care and compassion. Visitation will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Ave. E., on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 31st at 1 p.m. Donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
