Valerie Freda Johnson

Sadly our family announces the passing of Valerie on August 27, 2011 at the age of 86. Devoted mother to Earl (Bev) and Ken (JoAnne). Cherished Babcia to Paul, Karen (Cosmo), Steve (Colleen), Heather (Brian), Daniel (Katie) and Kris. Pra Babcia to 7 great grandchildren. Survived by her sister Zosia in Poland. Great Aunt to Mirek, Derek Jajdelski and their families. Valerie was past president, secretary and treasurer at the 315 Polish Veteran's Canadian Legion for over 50 years. She was also a 50 year member of St. Stan's Catholic Woman's League and a retired employee with the Board of Education and Hamilton General Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Michael Achong, Nadina Cowburn and the staff of St. Joseph's Hospital 7th floor for the compassion and care. Visitation will be held at TRUSCOTT, BROWN & DWYER FUNERAL CHAPEL 1309 King Street East (at the Delta, opposite Gage Park) 905-549-2417 on Monday, August 29, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Stanislaus Polish Roman Catholic Church (8 St. Ann Street) on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery - section 28 to follow.
