Peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her family, on August 3, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital in her 95th year. Predeceased by her husband James and granddaughter Jo-Anne. Loving mother of Mary, Anne (Ed), Jane, Linda (Terry) and Lorna (Vicky). Beloved grandmother of Mark (Diana), Mandy (Stan) and Steven. Dear great-grandmother of Joshua, Nick (Kayla), Kirstie, Nicole (Lizzie) and Jackson and great-great-grandmother of Leah and Chloe. Sophie was a huge supporter of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Toronto Maple Leafs. She's still waiting for a Stanley Cup in Toronto. Special thanks to our sister Mary for the love and care she showed our mother Sophie and to the Palliative Care at St. Joseph's Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Ave. E., on Wednesday, August 9th from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Donations in memory of Sophie may be made to St. Joseph's Hospital Neonatal or the SPCA.
