Our precious Mama, Baba, and Pra-Baba passed away peacefully at the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Michael in 2014. Will be deeply missed by son Michael John and his wife Iryna; daughter Irene and her husband Andrij Teliszewsky. Beloved Baba of Michael Paul, Ivanka, Nadia, Markianna, and Tamara Mychailyshyn; Andrew Teliszewsky, Natalie and her husband Blair Turner, and Christina and her husband Gregory Katchmar. Cherished Pra-Baba of Gavin and Danica Turner; and Yakiv Katchmar. Sofia was predeceased by 3 sisters and 1 brother in Ukraine. She will be fondly remembered by extended family and friends in Canada, Ukraine and the United States. Panachyda at the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre, 60 Richview Road., Etobicoke on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at 7:00 p.m., followed by a visitation until 8:00 p.m. Visitation at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday, May 27, 2019 from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. with Panachyda at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Church, Barton Street East at St. Olga Street, Hamilton on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Volodymyr Cemetery, Oakville. If desired, charitable donations may be made to the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre in Sofia’s memory.
