Siegfried is predeceased by his beloved wife, Florence (Patricia) (2007); his parents, Albert and Barbara; and his brother, Al. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: Teresa (Rick, predeceased 2014), Roy (Denise), Ronald (Angie), Sharlene, and Arlene. Cherished and deeply missed by his grandchildren: Tracy, Brandon (Nicole), Michael, Matthew, Lucas (Rhylla), Kayla, Cassandra, Ryan, Cheyenne (Mahad), Abby, Katie (Charbel), and Zak. He was also a proud and loving great-grandfather to April-Marie, Daryl, Niklaus, Aleaha, and Savannah.
Siegfried, known affectionately as "Dad" or "Sid" to many, was a kindhearted man whose generous spirit touched countless lives. Despite facing many health challenges, he met each one with courage and strength, always remaining our “Superman.” He found joy in the simple pleasures: gardening, family barbecues, and watching the sunset. A dedicated worker, he began his career building bridges and later retired as a skilled millwright. A true sports enthusiast, Dad was a loyal Toronto Blue Jays fan and a die-hard Toronto Maple Leafs supporter—always cheering, “Go Leafs Go!”
In 2007, he fulfilled a dream by purchasing his first bicycle, which he rode with pride. He especially enjoyed biking to Macassa Lodge to visit Sharlene at work, or down by the beach for fish and chips. He also treasured time spent at Joe’s shop (Roy’s workplace), joining the guys for lunch and sweet treats. Dad always looked forward to visits to Peter and Marlene’s trailer, enjoying laughter and love with family and extended family. He will be remembered as a true gentleman, with a sharp sense of humor and a heart full of love. His presence will be dearly missed.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and palliative care team at St. Joseph’s Hospital (Charlton Campus), as well as the Dialysis Unit team—especially Antonella Pasquale and Dr. T.O.—for their unwavering care and compassion. To the Porters at St. Joseph’s, thank you for helping Dad make his journey from the entrance to the dialysis unit with dignity and comfort. A special thank you to the DART drivers who assisted with transportation from Able Living to St. Joseph’s—your help was truly appreciated. The family also wishes to recognize and thank the staff at Able Living in Binbrook (Villa 3) for their care and support over the past year.
A Celebration of Life to honour Sid will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue E. On Sunday, April 20, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to join us in sharing happy memories and stories of his life.
