Patrick passed away peacefully on November 15th, 2023 at Macassa Lodge in Hamilton. Son of the late Margaret (Peggy) and Frederick Symons (deceased), brother of John & Sue Symons (England), brother of Michael Symons. Sadly missed by his nephew Paul (Alexandra) Symons. Patrick was cherished and deeply loved and will be missed by his sister Helen (John Antikian). Loved by his Auntie Mary (deceased) of Brantford and his cousins. Loved by his Auntie Pat (deceased) in Australia and his cousins. Patrick loved music. He loved classical composers as well as the James Last Band. His hero was Winston Churchill and he had accumulated numerous pictures and books relating to Churchill. Patrick loved old movies, collecting stamps and coins. Patrick loved garage sales. Over the years all his finds were on display in his apartment. Patrick was a very private man, he was also a bit of a social butterfly. He enjoyed meeting people and spent many years volunteering to help the less fortunate. Patrick lived the last few years of his life at Macassa Lodge. A very special thank you to the nurses, caregivers and volunteers of D Wing. There are not enough words to express our thanks to these wonderful persons for the care given to Patrick. Dignity and respect for the residents at Macassa was very evident. A special thank you to our friends, who shared Patrick’s journey with us. Your kind words and support are truly appreciated. Everyone loved Patrick; his kindness and his sense of humour will forever be remembered. Patrick did not have an easy life; he had many ups and mostly downs and now he is finally at peace. In memory of Patrick, a donation to the Good Shepherd will be appreciated. A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 1:00 pm at White Chapel Memorial Gardens (1895 Main St. W., Hamilton) with a procession leaving Cresmount Funeral Home (322 Fennell Ave. E, Hamilton, 905-387-2111) at 12:30 pm.
