BUBAS, Michael It is with heavy hearts that the family of Michael Bubas announces his peaceful passing on February 15, 2013 at the age of 78. Beloved husband and best friend of Madeline for 52 years. Forever cherished father of Michael Jr. and Kristine McCambridge and her husband Kevin. Adored Papa of Owen and Matthew who were the loves of his life; they will dearly miss playing hockey with their goalie, Papa. Predeceased by brothers Janko, Josip and Mate of Croatia. Fondly remembered by brothers Frane and family of Croatia, Nick and family of Hamilton, sisters-in-law Mary Gomercich, Katherine Pecaric and her family, and many other nieces and nephews in Croatia, Timmins and Schumacher. Following retirement from Dofasco in 1993, after working 25 years in Pollution Control, Mike loved nothing more than spending time with his family, walking around the neighbourhood, and travelling extensively across Canada, the United States and Europe. He was also a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge #954 for over 55 years. The family would like to extend its gratitude to all the staff at the Hamilton General's I.C.U. - South, who provided such compassionate care in Michael's last days. Family and friends are welcome to visitation at the MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Vigil prayers on Monday at 7:15 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
