Marven Goodwin

Born March 1, 1925 in Sackville, NB to his father Hazen and mother Ida (nee Ogden), and passed away April 8, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton. A great man with a big heart, married to the love of his life, Patricia (nee Tower) for 69 years. Loved by his 3 children, Marion (Errol Day), Douglas (Nancy), and Billy (Shelly). Pappy to Belinda, Arlie, Crystal, Deanna, Crystal (Chris), Douglas, David, Tori, Shae-lyn, Kody, and 11 great-grandchildren. Survived by his brother Ivan, sisters Frances and Laura, and predeceased by brothers Carmen, Donald, James and sister Margaret. He will be sadly missed by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends, especially his Walmart coffee friends. Mel worked for Frid’s Construction and was a member of LIUNA local 837 for over 50 years. He was also a member of Stanley Avenue Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME, 615 Main Street East (east of Sanford Ave.) on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Marlatt Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton.
