Martha (Mattie) Buntain

On Wednesday, April 20, 2011, in her 93nd year, Mattie found rest. Mattie was predeceased by her beloved husband William, her sisters Betty, Jean and brother Alex. She is survived by her son Don (Gail), her grandsons Jordan Buntain (Megan), Chris Watson (Cori), James Watson (Tamara) and her great-granddaughters Rowan and Hazel and great-grandson William. Mattie is survived by her sisters Mae Lavis, Connie Dawson (Tom), sisters-in-law Pat and Mae Buntain and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mattie was a member of Emmanuel United Church and a former member and elder of Livingston United Church. She was a very active member of the Y, a square and round dancer and a member of the Acting Up drama group. Mattie also enjoyed working for many years at Saturday’s Child in Dundas. Mattie had a wonderful active life and found something to be happy about each day. She lived life to its fullest and will be missed by her family and many friends. Special thanks to Dr. Marcaccio and the staff on Ward Six South at the General. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Marlatt Funeral Home, 615 Main St. E. (east of Sanford), Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A service celebrating Mattie’s life will be held at Emmanuel United Church, 871 Upper Ottawa St., Hamilton, on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Emmanuel United Church would be appreciated.
