Predeceased by his parents Bill Petrie and Karen Petrie. Survived by his stepmother Sharon Petrie, his wife Karen, his children Billy and Brianna (Dex) and the love of his life, his only granddaughter Nevaeh. His sister Cheryl (Tom), Sherry (Norm), Kimmy and his brothers Ray (Jeanine) and Chris. Amazing brother-in-law and friend. Will be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mark was a dedicated 35 year employee of Battlefield Equipment Rentals and will be sadly missed by his work family. He coached for many years at Scott Park Arena and was a sports and Nascar fan. Mark was the type of person that could make friends with a complete stranger. Special thanks to the nurses that were involved in Mark's care, especially from the C3 unit at Juravinski.
Visitation will take place at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 11-1 p.m. A chapel service will be held at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Juravinski Hospital or to Prostate Cancer Research.
