Beloved husband to Bernadette, incredible father/father-in-law to Daniel and Nicole, Jonathan and Katie, Nicholas and Laura, and doting grandfather to Connor, Ceilidh, Audrey, Isabelle, Noelle, Logan, and Joni. Loving son to Murray and Aldine Hobson, a fantastic uncle and cousin to countless relatives and a loyal friend to so many incredible people.
To know Mark was to know a person who was true to their self. He didn’t hide anything and was as genuine as they come. He understood the value of hard work and sacrifice – core values he has instilled in his whole family that they live by every day.
Happiness is something that everyone from all walks of life is pursuing in their own way. An expectation is what we base our idea of happiness on, even when it is completely unrealistic. Happiness may be a lot closer than you think and Mark knew this. He was kind to everyone he met and was sincere in his dedication to those things that inspired his happiness – his family and friends, his faith, and his passion for hockey and music.
Visitation will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue E. on Friday, September 2nd from 1-4pm and 6-9pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King, 714 King Street W. on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 10am. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 580 Old York Rd. Burlington.
To know Mark was to know and appreciate his love of music. In closing, it’s hard not to reference the lyrics from a song written by his favourite artist, John Prine:
“When I get to heaven, I’m gonna shake God’s hand
Thank Him for more blessings than one man can stand
Then I’m gonna get a guitar and start a rock-and-roll band
Check into a swell hotel; ain’t the afterlife grand?”
All our love,
The Hobson family
