Sadly, we announce the passing of our sister and aunt Marilyn at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Predeceased by her beloved spouse Robert Victor Hugoninc and her sister Dr. Elizabeth Joan Latimer. Fondly remembered by her brother Douglas Paul Latimer (Dorothy) and sister Barbara Jean Frame; nephews David Paul Latimer and Spencer Duncan Frame; niece Andrea Colleen Britt (Derek Filinski); and great-nephew Malak Conner Britt and great-niece Peyton Elizabeth Britt.
Marilyn loved her calling as a teacher, teaching at Collegiate Avenue Elementary School in Stoney Creek, and later became a hairdresser working on the Hamilton Mountain. She enjoyed spending time with Robert at their trailer over the years. She also had a great love for reading, sometimes reading up to four or five books a day. An avid animal lover of any kind, she especially loved her cat Zeby. Marilyn enjoyed many family get-togethers over the years, spending time during the holidays and birthdays. She was known to say that “family is the most important thing to her.” We are deeply thankful to the St. Joseph’s and Bayshore PSW’s for all the care and support provided to Marilyn over the years.
Visitation will be held at Marlatt Funeral Home, 615 Main Street East, Hamilton, on Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 1:00 - 1:30 p.m., with a celebration of life following at 1:30 p.m. In her memory, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Softly the leaves of memory fall.
Gently we gather and treasure them all.
A thought, a prayer are all we can give.
These you will have for as long as we live.
