Dear Lynda,

Our neighbourly story began many years ago with my mother and you becoming friends.  From that spawned my relationship with you, Tony, your family and friends.  When we visited each other I was always guaranteed a great laugh.  One of my favourite memories will always be our attempts at saving the trees in our backyards from the Ontario Hydro cleanup.  Your inspiration to save God's gift of greenery was inspiring.  

There were so many stories all of which will be fondly remembered.  

I will do my best to stay close to Tony and see him through this.  No doubt it will be difficult for all until we stop and realize how much you impacted each one of us.  'God Bless' and to use your words 'My Dear'.

It has only been a week without you and I’m feeling pain like never before.  The first thing that came to mind was to call you so you can give me words of wisdom, on how I might change things to make me feel better, but the reality sets in that God has called you home much too soon, with little time for me to prepare.  
 
Your hugs were like no other.  No one else held me so tight or made me feel so right.  No one's eyes shined so bright with love, for me, and my family. The beautiful woman that I call mom, is now looking down on us high above.
I know that you have been and will continue to be missed by each one of us all for different reasons, but the only thing that may make me feel better is to know that you are now with my brother, your son again and that someday I may think of you, with tears that currently fill my eyes, change from sad to happy, remembering the many memories you created for us over the years.  
I write this letter to you today asking you to grant me the strength that I need to handle the next two days, greeting the many friends that come to say farewell and the other to put you to rest, loving and missing you today and always.  I say farewell now but hope to see you someday when I am called to be with you and Jason.

I know I speak for many of us who worked side by side with Lynda at Mohawk, when I offer our deepest condolences to Tony, Wanda, Bryce , Jeff, and especially her grandchildren, who we know Lynda adored. 
Lynda was thrust into a role as a pioneer in post secondary education, tasked with developing student services to Mohawk's thousands of Continuing Education students. This was a very difficult task, there was no template for the unique and diverse needs of part time students at this time. But Lynda was very determined to do her best to provide meaningful support to these students and would not let humble resources and lack of dedicated space stand in her way.
 Lynda led Mohawk to become the first Ontario College to organize a Part Time Students' Association (MCACES) which resulted in many other colleges following her lead.
Lynda was always a champion of these MCACES students and a valued, loved and respected member of Mohawk's Student Life team.

How very sad to lose Lynda! My condolences to Tony and family. Lynda was part of our Mohawk family and worked diligently to advocate for part time students, having been one herself. MCACES, the Mohawk College Association for Continuing Education Students was a unique flagship organization in the college system. She worked tirelessly for the students it represented by creating and securing services for the CE student and was persistent in reminding seniour management of their needs. We all enjoyed working with her. She was great fun, had a wonderful sense of humour, lots of stories and cared.  Memories of her stories will live on in each of us who knew her.  I am thankful to have known her and will remember her always.  We recently lost another dear colleague, Don Burroughs who worked with Lynda on MCACES and she mourned him, so there is some comfort in knowing they would greet each other again.

All my Sympathy to Lynda’s family.  While working in Continuing Education at Mohawk College, I saw first hand Lynda’s care, support and hard work on behalf of C.E. Students through MCACES.  She was an enthusiastic, creative and fun loving team leader who secured a dedicated new space in F Wing for C.E. Students.  Donna McMillan

I knew Lynda when she worked at Mohawk.  I volunteered  occasionally in her office and enjoyed working with her.  Please accept my deepest condolences.  You are in my thoughts and prayers. 

Lorne and I have a fond memory of Lynda when we visited her and family in London when we were 18 years old.  She was very friendly and gracious to us.  She made us feel like part of the family from the moment we arrived. Lorne had met her but it was the first for me meeting her and her husband at the time and Lorne’s siblings.  It was a wonderful experience and I will never forget it.

My thoughts are with you at this time!!  Such a caring loving Mother!! Surrounded by an amazing family as well !  Jason was waiting for his beloved Mother when she arrived with a choir of Angels rejoicing at her presence!!  May she be greeted into the loving   arms of our Lord!!  God bless her forever!! I was lucky to work with Lynda on the board of MCACES and we shared some of the most fun filled and most enlightening times together.  Lynda was all heart and lived her life caring about other people.
