Beloved husband of Barbara for 55 years. Loving father of Debbie (Steve) Ohlhoff of Burlington and Mike Williams of Ingersoll. He will also be lovingly remembered by his sister Ruth (Doug) Kennedy of St. Catharines, sister in-law Shirley (Late Jan) Verhage of Hamilton, their extended families, neighbours and friends.
Ken was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 105 for almost 60 years. The last 25 years before retirement from the electrical trade were spent working at McMaster University. He joined Air Cadets in his teen years; where he obtained his pilot's license. Ken's affiliation with cadets ended in 1990 when he was transferred to the Supplementary Reserve after completion of service as Commanding Officer of 713 Squadron. He was awarded a Canadian Forces Decoration for his years of service as a cadet instructor in 1991. Ken ran his own theatre lighting business for a few years and was a member of the East Hamilton Optimist Club for a time. He joined the Masonic Lodge in 1978 and the Hamilton Shrine Club in 2015. Ken was an avid rail fan and a model train enthusiast. He loved the outdoors and especially camping and boating. A history buff, Ken spent many hours reading about historical events. He enjoyed a variety of crafts and hobbies and created several stain glass pieces which he gifted to family and friends. He loved animals especially dogs. A dedicated family man the most important thing in Ken's life was time spent with family.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of his Life will take place at the I.B.E.W. Local 105, 685 Nebo Road, R.R. # 2, Hannon, Ontario on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
