John is survived by his loving wife, Helen, daughter, Donna MacKenzie (Don), son, David, brother Peter(Sylvia), nephews Peter (Sue), Paul (Kim), Steven (Liesl), and extended family. He is predeceased by his brother, Fred.
John worked as a proud and loyal employee at Stelco in Hamilton for 44 years. Upon retirement, he pursued his many interests and hobbies that included being a car enthusiast, gardening, woodworking, and music.
Cremation will take place with a private family burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of choice. The family would like to thank the staff at the Juravinski Hospital for their dedicated care and compassion.
