Passed away, surrounded by family after a struggle with throat cancer, at his home on July 17, 2013 at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Lillian (nee Cole) for 57 years. Loving father of John (Mary-Anne), Susan Clark, Barbara Agostino (Mike) and the late Diane Wood (1997). Cherished papa of eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Stephanie Mitchell and Mary Popek. Predeceased by his twin brother Steve. John was a retired employee of Dofasco after 25 years of service. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Sunday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm and Monday, July 22, 2013 from 12pm until the time of Funeral Service at 1pm.
