Survived by his beloved Wife Reneé , very proud Father of Shannon and devoted Papa to Braden. John is predeceased by his infant son Jevon, parents Joanne & Alexander Bremner, brothers Alan and Fr. Alexander Bremner. John married his teenage Irish sweetheart Reneé and together they emigrated to Canada and were married for 58 years. John worked hard for his family and loved them very much. John was a stage four Lung Cancer Survivor who fought the good fight but was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in the end and was too tired to fight. He was a very good soccer player and played for Burlington and many other teams. His grandson Braden was the love of his life and he was sorry he couldn’t teach him how to play soccer due to his illness. He also coached youth soccer for many years and played tennis and racket ball throughout the years. John worked as a Supervisor for Baycoat where he retired after 36 years. He enjoyed his twice yearly trips to the condo in Myrtle Beach which we did for 40 years with his wife. John was an McMaster Alumni who received his Certified Administrative Manager Diploma. John was awarded the Distinguished Award for Major Contributions by the Hamilton Sports Council three times. John was a huge Celtic & Toronto Maple Leaf supporter.
Special thanks to the Juravinski Hospital for all their excellent care over the years especially Dr. J Goffen , Cheryl, Dr. Kim McCallum who went above and beyond in the last 4 years for John. Donations can be made to the Cancer Assistance Program in John’s memory. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
